Reyansh's POV
"Sir... sir please... I'm sorry... mujhe maaf kar dijiye... aage se aisa kabhi nahi hoga..."
His voice trembled as he begged, almost collapsing at my feet.
Pathetic.
I stood there, unmoved. My sleeves were rolled up, muscles tense beneath the fitted shirt, but it wasn't strength that scared him...
It was the anger in my eyes.
Cold. Calculated. Merciless.
"Did you really think," I stepped closer, my voice low yet deadly, "that you could betray me... and I wouldn't find out?"
He shook his head violently, tears streaming down his face.
"Sir please-"
"Twelve men." I cut him off.
My jaw tightened.
"Twelve of my men are dead because of you."
Silence fell heavy between us. The kind that suffocates.
"And you still think..." I tilted my head slightly, staring straight into his terrified eyes, "that you'll walk out of here alive?"
"N-no sir... please... ek chance-"
"A chance?" A humorless chuckle escaped my lips.
"You've cost me millions." My voice dropped further, almost a whisper now-more dangerous than a scream.
"An amount you couldn't repay in ten lifetimes."
I paused.
Then took out my gun.
His breath hitched.
"So tell me..." I raised it, pointing straight at him, "why should I let you live?"
"Sir PLEASE-"
Bang.
The first shot echoed through the empty space.
Bang.
The second one left no room for hope.
Bang.
And the third...
...made sure there was no coming back.
His body dropped lifelessly to the ground.
I stared at it for a second. No regret. No hesitation.
Just silence.
I turned and started walking away as if nothing had happened.
Because for me... nothing had.
My phone rang.
I glanced at the screen.
Aarav.
I picked it up.
"Bro, tu hai kahan?" his annoyed voice came instantly. "Main tere penthouse pe hoon, raat ke 2 baj rahe hain aur tu yahan hai hi nahi. Where the hell are you?"
I smirked slightly, stepping into my car.
"What do you think you are, huh?" I said lazily. "My father? Jo main tujhe apni location bhejunga?"
"Reyansh-"
"Relax," I cut him off. "Wait there. I'll be there."
Before he could reply, I hung up.
As I was about to start the engine, my eyes fell on something else.
Five missed calls.
From Dadu.
For a moment... everything else faded.
My grip on the phone tightened slightly.
Unlike the rest of the world...
He was the only person I could never ignore.
I exhaled slowly, leaning back in my seat.
"Kal subah..." I muttered under my breath.
"I'll call him first."
And for the first time that night...
There was something other than anger in my eyes.
Something softer.
Something human.
The moment I stepped into my apartment, my eyes landed on the one person who could annoy me without even trying.
Aarav.
Of course.
My so-called best friend.
The same guy who had been stuck to me since childhood like a shadow I could never get rid of.
Annoying.
Loud.
Uninvited.
...and somehow, still there.
I exhaled slowly, watching him sprawled across my couch like he owned the place, sleeping like an idiot.
Pathetic.
And yet...
Loyal.
That was the only thing I valued in people.
Loyalty.
Something most people promise... and then break like it means nothing.
Do I care anymore?
No.
Because the only person I ever truly cared about...
Didn't think twice before breaking it.
My jaw tightened for a brief second.
I looked away.
I had no intention of talking to him-not like this. Not while I was still wearing a suit stained with blood.
Ignoring him completely, I walked straight to my room.
A hot shower.
That's all I needed.
I stepped under the stream, water running down my body, washing away the blood, the night... the chaos.
Drops traced over my skin, sliding down sharply defined muscles, every line of strength carved with discipline and control.
But no amount of water could wash that away.
Her eyes.
They flashed in my mind again.
The way they looked at me once... filled with something real.
And then-
The betrayal.
Her voice.
Her face.
And the moment everything shattered.
Trust.
Love.
Faith.
All gone.
Just like that.
My hand pressed against the wall, water still running as I shut my eyes tightly.
For a second... just one second...
It felt like it all came back.
Then I opened my eyes.
Cold again.
Empty again.
After getting ready, I didn't think much.
Just poured myself a drink.
And another.
Until sleep finally took over.
---
6:00 AM.
I was already up.
Pain.
Sweat.
Control.
For two straight hours, I pushed my body beyond limits-each punch, each rep, each breath a distraction.
Because stopping meant thinking.
And thinking meant remembering.
And I don't do that.
Not anymore.
After the workout, I grabbed my phone and dialed the only number that actually mattered.
"Dadu."
"Reyansh!" his worried voice came instantly. "Kal tumne phone kyun nahi uthaya? Pata hai kitni chinta ho rahi thi?"
A flicker of guilt crossed my face.
"I'm sorry, Dadu," I said, calmer than usual. "I was busy. Phone silent tha... aur phir jaldi so gaya. Uthte hi aapko call kiya."
There was a pause.
Then a softer sigh.
"Theek hai beta... lekin aaj tumhe ek kaam karna hoga."
I leaned back slightly, already knowing I wouldn't be able to refuse.
"Humare NGO jana hai," he continued. "Donations dene hain aur thoda kaam dekhna hai. Main khud chala jaata... par tabiyat theek nahi hai."
My grip on the phone tightened.
NGO?
Seriously?
"I'll send you the location after that. Wahan bhi jaana hai. Aur koi excuse nahi chalega."
Of course.
I closed my eyes for a brief second.
There were a hundred things I'd rather do.
And a thousand reasons to say no.
But this was him.
And for him...
I never had a choice.
"...Fine," I said quietly.
"Good," he replied, satisfied.
The call ended.
I stared at the phone for a moment before letting out a slow breath.
"Great," I muttered under my breath.
"
Let's see... what kind of mess today brings."
